China 'still a developing nation'

China insisted on Tuesday it was still a developing nation despite overtaking Japan as the world's second largest economy, in the face of pressure to take on a greater role in global affairs. Thirty years after opening its doors to the outside world, China has enjoyed spectacular economic growth and already claimed the titles of world's top exporter, auto market and steelmaker. After outpacing its neighbour in the second quarter, China is on course this year to officially confirm its position as world number two -- a title Japan held for 40 years -- underscoring its emergence as a global economic and political force. Advertisement: Story continues below While some analysts are predicting that China could take on the top spot from the United States within a few decades, commentators insisted it remained a developing nation with tens of millions living in poverty. Commerce ministry spokesman Yao Jian said China still lagged far behind its rivals in per capita terms and has a long way to go to becoming a world-class power. "The quality of China's economic growth still needs to be improved, no matter whether it is in terms of people's quality of life or in terms of science, technology and environmental protection," the spokesman said. "We still have an enormous gap to make up." He said China's per capita GDP was 3,800 dollars -- putting it around 105th in the world -- and that 150 million of its 1.3 billion people live below the poverty line, according to UN standards. "China's economy will continue to develop because China has a large population and its economy lagged behind," he said. Japanese government data issued on Monday showed that its second quarter GDP on a nominal basis came in at 1.288 trillion dollars, below China's 1.336 trillion dollars, although Japan remained stronger over the first half. China has for years stormed ahead with double-digit growth in gross domestic product, dwarfing Japan's relatively low rates of expansion, although figures for the second half of 2010 are expected to show it losing some steam. China's official press Rosetta Stone French declared that while contributing to global growth and helping to drive the world's recovery from the financial crisis, China was still transforming itself into a world-class economic power. "The Chinese economy still has a lot more room to grow and can contribute even more to the global recovery," the English-language China Daily said in an editorial. "But for those who expect China to assume greater international responsibilities just because of the size of its economy, they should take a hard look at the enormous development challenges that the country still faces." The international community has been pushing China -- which has been using its clout to bolster its economic and diplomatic influence as far away as Africa and Latin America -- to take a more active role in addressing issues such as climate change and trade imbalances. In just three decades, China has leapfrogged Britain, France and Germany on its economic ascent and has won developing countries a bigger say in the World Bank and International Monetary Fund. But the People's Daily said in a commentary: "China's economic strength is also still at the level of a developing nation. So the world's second-largest economy is not the equivalent of the second-largest economic power." Yang Yi, a professor at Beijing Foreign Studies University, told the China Daily that China was still bogged down by poverty and the widening rich-poor divide. China's economy grew 11.9 per cent in the first quarter but slowed to 10.3 per cent in the April-June period after Beijing introduced a slew of measures designed to rein in soaring property prices and avoid overheating. Beijing has said a slowdown is good for sustainable long-term development of China as policymakers try to reduce the country's heavy reliance on exports and investment to drive growth. "There is no need to be overly worried about the rate of economic expansion," Fan Jianping of the State Information Centre, a government sponsored think-tank, said in comments published Monday. People's Daily columnist Li Hong boldly predicted that in 15 to 25 years China could overtake the United States -- whose economy is currently about three times the size of China's. "Our ultimate goal is, naturally, to reach the pinnacle by surpassing the United States and, once again, becoming the largest economy," Li wrote in the ruling Communist Party mouthpiece.

Chinese whispers as kids learn Mandarin

FOR most primary school children, getting to grips with the "three Rs" is a big enough challenge. But schools across Notts are now pushing the boundaries by offering youngsters the chance to learn Mandarin Chinese. The language is becoming more and more popular in schools across the county, with teachers seeing it as a genuine alternative to traditional modern foreign languages. For pupils at Underwood C of E Primary School, there is real hope that their new-found language skills will come in handy in later years. Head teacher Gareth Letton said: "We've traditionally taught French from Year 1 but we've been dipping our toe in with Mandarin and it seems to be going really well."We want to encourage our children to be global citizens, especially with there being a lot of British business in China. We are also in a part of Notts which is pretty monocultural, so exploring the Chinese culture through the teaching of Mandarin is very important." Underwood C of E was inspired to start teaching Mandarin Chinese at the start of the 2010-2011 academic year after forming links with a Chinese primary school. Its connection with Jiangbin Primary School, near Shanghai, was set up as part of the school's involvement through Notts County Council with the British Council's Connecting Classrooms scheme. The initiative aims to build lasting partnerships between UK schools and others across the world. Rosetta Stone Outlet To support the link, every pupil in Years 1 to 6 at the school is being taught Mandarin Chinese in the current academic year. Youngsters are each having weekly lessons with a native Mandarin speaker for half a term, but the sessions are proving so successful that the school plans to expand the programme in 2011-2012. Mr Letton said: "The children are very positive about it and so are parents. It's another string to their child's bow. "We're looking to really push it in the next academic year." Chinese-themed activities are being held at the school this week. Pupils can watch traditional Chinese lion dancing and take part in art, music and drama workshops. Underwood C of E is one of nine schools in Notts which have links with Chinese schools under Connecting Classrooms. The other primary schools are Chetwynd Road Primary School, Toton; Cotgrave Candleby Lane School; Edwinstowe St Mary's C of E Primary; Brookside Primary School, East Leake; Flintham Primary School, Newark; Wynndale Primary School, Mansfield; Peafield Lane Primary School in Mansfield. And South Wolds Community School and Language College is the only county-run secondary school taking part in the scheme. Teachers from the nine schools visited China last year, while staff from the Chinese schools are due to come over to Notts in May and June. Councillor Philip Owen, Notts County Council's cabinet member for children and young people's services, said: "Speaking another language is a useful and practical skill in today's global market, and as China is the world's fastest-growing major economy, young people with a knowledge of Mandarin will be well-placed to step into the economic arena of the future."

The film is not afraid of dealing with Senna's faith

There's a lovely scene in which the young Ayrton, long before the F1 duels, sits eating a TV dinner. He looks up and smiles at the camera, an image silently conveying what made him beloved in Brazil and beyond: his humility and disarming sweetness. ''I wanted to make a film that wouldn't just appeal to formula one fans,'' Kapadia says. ''That's what the great sports documentaries do - Hoop Dreams, When We Were Kings - they're human dramas first, sport second, if at all. ''Lots of people who enjoyed it are not like [Top Gear presenter] Jeremy Clarkson. Often they're women who couldn't care less about motor racing.'' What captivates non-fans about Senna's character? ''That he wouldn't quit and he stood by what he believed in and yet had utter dignity. How many sports stars can you say that of? [Boxer Muhammad] Ali's the only other one. Ali was my hero - and my dad's - when I was a boy. And now I've made this film, Senna has become my hero too. There aren't many real heroes, you know?'' Senna, perhaps, is not so unlike Kapadia's earlier films. ''It's the story of an outsider - a Brazilian who came to Europe and took them on. A man who was slightly apart from the world he inhabited, a still centre around the noise.'' The film is not afraid of dealing with Senna's faith. ''My films often have a spiritual dimension, which comes from my Muslim background, and I'm happy to tackle that in cinema,'' Kapadia says. He decided to have no talking heads, partly because he didn't want any retrospective rationalisation by his interview subjects. ''These guys [the racing drivers] hated each other, whatever they say now, and I wanted to show that.'' The film's central drama is the rivalry between Alain Prost and Senna - the former a Frenchman nicknamed the Professor for his coolly calculating approach to races, the latter determined Rosetta Stone Hindito win at any cost. At the Japanese grand prix in 1990, Senna - angry and reckless - tried to overtake Prost on a chicane but the cars collided and both crashed out of the race. ''You can't excuse him,'' Kapadia says. ''He could have killed himself and Prost. I didn't want to judge him but to understand his motivation and to show the life-or-death nature of their rivalry. ''At some points when I was editing I was thinking of them as dramatic figures rather than people. Then I stopped.'' Kapadia says when he edited footage of Senna's mother at his funeral, his responsibility to the family became clear. ''I realised it's someone's life I'm dealing with and so, morally, I felt a responsibility for the images I've never felt before. If the family had objected to the film, it would have been very tough because I'd tried to make something honest and moving.'' The last act of the film deals with the cursed weekend at the San Marino grand prix at Imola in 1994. In footage from the starting grid, Senna looks haunted. He was driving a Williams car whose steering seemed unpredictable, was up against Michael Schumacher's Ferrari that he couldn't catch and had witnessed the death of the Austrian driver Roland Ratzenberger during qualifying. ''Senna generally had his helmet on, looking straight ahead and focused at the start of a race. On that last day he chose not to wear the helmet and looked in such a state - he looks in the wrong place, he looks so lonely, so unhappy, so out of love with the sport.'' On that last day, Senna understeered at Tamburello corner, leaving the track at 305km/h then slowing down to 215km/h before hitting the wall. He died in hospital aged 34. Some think Senna had a death wish. ''I don't think he wanted to die,'' Kapadia says. ''There are people on my team who think God was saving him from himself because he's got to the position where he hates the sport so much and the only way out is to take him out.

Finland's Nokia unveils music downloads, Internet services, gadgets

Nokia Corp. unveiled new Internet services and gadgets Wednesday to help customers download music and play games on mobile handsets in a strong push to challenge rivals, including Apple's iTunes and iPod. The latest move by the world's largest mobile phone maker, which has a strong position in emerging markets with basic handsets, is further recognition that high-end markets require multitask handsets with photo, music and video capabilities and quick access to the Internet. Nokia said it will focus its Web services in a new site known as "Ovi" Finnish for "door" that will include an online music store that allows users to browse for music "with millions of tracks from major labels" and buy downloads onto their devices, including one that holds up to 6,000 songs. Advertisement: Story continues below The new services will also enable the transfer of music from PCs to compatible Nokia devices, and give customers the chance to play and download N-Gage games on "tens of millions" of Nokia devices sold worldwide, the Finnish company said. The high-power launch of the new services, announced in London, sent Nokia stock to its highest level this year in Helsinki, closing up 4.6 percent at euro23.31 (US$31.77). "The industry is converging towards Internet-driven experiences and Ovi represents Nokia's vision in combining the Internet and mobility," Nokia CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo said in London. "Looking into the future, we will deliver great devices, combined with compelling experiences and services, to make it easy for people to unlock the potential of the Internet." Kallasvuo also said Rosetta Stone Italian that global sales of multimedia phones with access to the Internet thereby enabling video, music and data downloads would grow to 0 million devices this year, an increase of 50 percent on 06. Nokia's new top-range models, including 5-megapixel cameras, Carl Zeiss optics and memory of up to 8 gigabytes, range from euro225 to euro560 (US$300-750). Last year, Nokia bought Loudeye Corp., a leading provider of digital media distribution services, for US$60 million to expand its mobile digital music offerings. Now it has completed deals with four major music labels Universal Music Group, EMI, Sony Music and Warner Music Group. It will price downloads of single music tracks at euro1 (US$1.36) and albums at euro(US$13.60). The "Nokia Music Store" will open this autumn in Europe and later in Asia, it said. The online store will offer "locally relevant music" as well as hits. "People don't just want the top global hits, but also music that is relevant to them, whether from local artists or songs in their own language," Tommi Mustonen, head of Nokia's music activities, said. "That's why we are working with thousands of major and independent labels to bring as many songs on the local top charts as possible to the Nokia music store in each country." Since losing out to rivals on popular camera features and clamshell models several years ago, Nokia is regaining its dominance in the market. In part, that success can be attributed to its successful smart phones that are pushing further into the domain of photos, music players and TV. In the second quarter, Nokia sold 100 million mobile devices more than its three main rivals combined.

This job has taken me on a considerable journey

Most of the Muslims I speak to say they love Australia, are grateful this country took them in and gave them freedoms - including religious freedom denied them in some Muslim-majority countries - and are happy to call it home. Many of these are devout, some are fundamentalists. I ended by suggesting that to combat alienation and terrorism and to help new communities adjust, we dont want less Islam but more. So here is a mainstream newspaper running something positive about Islam and about religious Muslims, and separating fundamentalism from extremism, two separate characteristics that are often automatically linked. That doesnt fit the media stereotype. Now naturally I have presented material I hope makes me appear to advantage. But I didnt start in this enlightened state. This job has taken me on a considerable journey. When I began I knew hardly any Muslims, now I know hundreds. I did not know that the Muslims living in Melbourne came from some 70 different ethnic groups, sometimes with little in common but their faith. A profound lesson for me came when I wrote what I regarded as an important story about the persecution of Sabean Mandaeans by Muslims in an Australian detention centre that led to improved conditions for the victims. I was horrified to find that article in a university booklet as an example of how NOT to report on Islam because I had treated the persecutors as typical Muslims. Of course I didnt say that, but nor did I properly differentiate. I thought hard about that, and learnt a lesson. And now the care I take not to present all Muslims as one homogenous group is automatic. But my hurdle was not bias or disdain for Muslims, it was sheer ignorance. And for most of the media, that remains the case. When I entered journalism there was considerable hostility to religion among Canada Goose Jakker journalists; now there is mostly ignorance. Is that preferable? You choose. The point is, you shouldnt always see a conspiracy in reporting that you dont like. It is more likely to be ignorance than malice, more likely to be a cock-up than a conspiracy. Sometimes, too, the media does not create, it simply reflects. And, of course, in reflecting, creates. But we do not invent this discourse. In Islam and the Australian News Media, Sarah Smiles Persinger asks are individual journalists entirely to blame? How much of the coverage of Islam in Australia is shaped by other factors, such as fierce competition between media outlets, the space constraints in telling a story, back-biting within the Muslim community, and more generally, post-September 11 public discourse about radical Islam and terrorism propagated by the political elite? In other words, often journalists are simply quoting politicians, which is our job. Politicians have not been above playing on, even building, fear and suspicion of Muslims. Perhaps the most cynical example is the Lindsay election pamphlet in which unauthorised Liberals led by the husband of MP Jackie Kelly distributed a fraudulent flyer. It purported to be from a Muslim group thanking Labor for promising clemency to terrorists and to build a mosque in the electorate. But Im sure Muslims would recognise other examples of playing this racereligion card. Let look briefly at four stories of varying importance from the past few years that all reflected negatively on at least some Muslims.

Iran arrests US trio near Iraq border

Iran has arrested three Americans who "infiltrated" from Iraq, state television said on Saturday, as Washington sought confirmation those picked up are backpackers who reportedly strayed across the border. "An informed Iranian source confirmed the arrest of three Americans after they infiltrated through the Iraqi border," the Arabic-language Al-Alam station reported. Another state channel said they were military personnel. Advertisement: Story continues below The United States, which does not have diplomatic ties with the Islamic republic, said it has asked Switzerland, which represents its interests in Tehran, to confirm the Iranian reports. "We have asked our Swiss protecting power to confirm these reports with Iranian authorities and, if true, to seek consular access," US State Department spokesman Robert Wood said in a statement in Washington. "The protection of American citizens is our highest priority." The autonomous Kurdish government in northern Iraq, from where the three Americans had set off, said it was in contact with Iranian and US officials in a bid to resolve the issue. A Kurdish official identified the three as US backpackers and said they were arrested after having been warned on the Iraqi side not to hike in the mountains because of the proximity of the border with Iran which is not clearly marked. Beshro Ahmed, media adviser for general security in Iraq's autonomous Kurdish region, said the two men and a woman had entered from Turkey earlier along with a fourth American who did not join the trek because he was ill. According to CNN, Iran detained the three US nationals on Friday after they crossed into the country from Iraqi Kurdistan. Ahmed named the three as Shane Bower, Sara Short and Joshua Steel while Shaun Gabriel Maxwell stayed behind in a hotel in the Kurdish region's second Rosetta Stone German largest city of Sulaimaniyah. "On Thursday, three of them went to the summer resort at Ahmed Awa," Ahmed said of an area about 90 kilometres northeast of Sulaimaniyah. The three Americans stayed in a youth hostel in the mountainous region and "the (Kurdish) tourist police in the area asked them not to climb the mountains because the Iranian border was very close," Ahmed said. "On Friday, they went close to the mountains, and climbed them. Then they called their friend in the hotel telling him that they were arrested by Iranian forces at the border," Ahmed said. "Shaun was in the hotel and he called the US embassy in Iraq to tell them about this information, and the Americans came to the hotel and took him." The Kurdish regional government said in a statement late Saturday that it was maintaining close contact with the Iranian consulate in Arbil as well as with US officials "in order to solve the problem". Iranian state television, without quoting a source, said on an earlier Saturday news bulletin that three US military personnel had gone missing near the border. "Three US military personnel went missing in an area bordering Iran-Iraq," the announcer said. "The reason for the presence of these American soldiers is not known. The Western media, in the past few days, extensively propagated that these three US personnel have been kidnapped." But an official at the Pentagon in Washington has insisted that no US military personnel were involved. US-Iran tensions have been high for years, with the Islamic republic deriding the United States as the "Great Satan" and US President Barack Obama's predecessor, George W Bush, labelling Tehran part of an "axis of evil".

Manhattan meets the Far East

Richard Jinman experiences the stark contrast of Manila, full of malls and towers, and peaceful Bohol island. Our guide today is Carlos, a short, stocky man who speaksperfect American-accented English and wears a top hat in the jauntystyle of Jiminy Cricket. The portable stereo hung around his neckis blasting Glenn Miller's Chattanooga Choo Choo, an incongruouschoice considering we are walking through the cloisters of acathedral in Manila's historic Intramuros district. Oddly, no oneseems to mind, least of all the priests, who offer greetings andindulgent smiles as we pass. "If it brings people in, they don'tcare what I do," Carlos says with a wink. It's only when we enter a large crypt that he finally hits the"off" button on the stereo, hangs his hat on a convenient cheruband calls us together. He wants to talk about Manila's imageproblem - the way foreigners often refer to his home town as "thatugly city without a centre, without a soul". Advertisement: Story continues below Carlos doesn't seem to disagree with that assessment but hewants to make a plea for understanding; to explain how a beautifulcity dubbed the Pearl of the Orient in the early part of the thcentury was bombed flat at the end of the World War II and rebornas a giant shopping mall, whose most celebrated citizen is theshoe-obsessed wife of a disgraced former president. "I saw Imelda [Marcos] today, eating pizza at a supermarketcheckout in full national costume!" Carlos says, rolling his eyeswith a mixture of delight and horror. "She's still the first ladyin her head - it's kinda Miss Havisham." His history lesson kicks off in 1571 with Rosetta Stone Outlet the arrival of theConquistadors and describes a nation whose language, faith, cultureand identity were accreted by the Spanish, Chinese, British andAmericans. In 1898, the US bought the country from Spain for$US million and began turning Manila into the New York of the FarEast. It was the first Asian city to have cinemas, jazz clubs, radio stations, train lines and, perhaps more importantly, toiletpaper. This flowering lasted less than 50 years. In March, 1945,General Douglas MacArthur captured the city from the Japanese andended their three-year occupation of the Philippines. Itsliberation came at a terrible cost. A month of intensive bombingleft Manila in ruins - the second-most devastated city after Warsaw- and more than 100,000 Filipinos dead. After the war, theshattered European-style buildings were bulldozed and replaced bymodern American architecture, paving the way for today's congestedconglomeration of freeways, shopping malls, tower blocks and shantytowns. Carlos likes to compare the city to Casa Manila, a Spanishcolonial house in the Intramuros that was restored by Imelda Marcosin 1981 and now operates as a museum. The interiors are "decoratedto death" in a hotchpotch style that includes French doors, Italianchandeliers and English grandfather clocks. "Everything isexpensive but nothing matches," Carlos says. "But somehow, when youput it all together, it works - like the Philippines!" And work it does, in its own peculiar way.

A more road-focused Cayenne will be introduced in February

PORSCHEThe fastest 911 in the Porsche line-up, the GT2, arrives in March with a $425,700 price tag. For the money, however, a tweaked and more powerful (390kW) version of the 911 Turbo's twin-turbocharged, 3.6-litre, six-cylinder engine will propel the rear-wheel-drive GT2 from standstill to 100kmh in just 3.7 seconds. A 329kmh top speed is unmatched by any of the other 15 variants in the current 911 range. The GT2 will also feature the first launch-control system to be fitted to a road-going Porsche. The system is engaged by depressing both the clutch and accelerator pedals. The driver then waits for turbo boost pressure to rise to 13psi before side-stepping the clutch. A more road-focused Cayenne will be introduced in February. Australia-bound Cayenne GTS models will feature air suspension and six-speed automatic transmission as standard. The GTS will sit between the Cayenne S and flagship Cayenne Turbo, priced at $153,500. It uses a slightly tweaked version of the Cayenne S's 4.2-litre V8, delivering an extra 15kW (298kW) and the same torque (500Nm). RENAULTRenault Australia will launch the new-generation Laguna mid-size car midyear, although the company doesn't expect much showroom movement beyond the current 10-odd sales a month. A 2.0-litre turbo-diesel with six-speed auto is confirmed, but Renault is also considering a 3.5-litre V6. The maker is expected to release a soft-roader called the Koleos at the end of the year. It shares its underpinnings with the Nissan X-Trail (Nissan and Renault are partners) but will be powered by a 2.0-litre, turbo-diesel engine with a Rosetta Stone Spanish (Spain) six-speed automatic transmission. There's still no confirmation on whether Renault will introduce the third generation of its Clio hatchback in Australia - except for the Renault Sport version. The Clio III was released in Europe in but we won't get the hot hatch until June. It is a belated replacement for the brilliant second-generation Sport Clio that delighted driving enthusiasts with its lively engine and cornering ability. The new model is powered by a 145kW 2.0-litre and has a claimed zero to 100kmh time of 6.9 seconds. SAABSaab's updated 9-3 mid-sized sedan recently went on sale in Australia, but in February it will be available with the Swedish brand's first genuine all-wheel-drive system. All Saabs until now - with the exception of the US-only 9-2X and 9-7X, a rebadged Subaru Impreza and Chevrolet Trailblazer - have been front-wheel-drive only. Because four wheels share the burden of putting power to the ground, the 9-3 Aero XWD gets a higher-performance version of the 2.8-litre turbocharged V6 built by General Motors's sister brand, Holden - up from 188kW to 6kW. SKODAAustralia's newest brand, the VW-owned, Czech-based Skoda hopes to double its two-model launch line-up this year. First is the Scout, a higher-riding, tougher-looking version of the mid-sized Octavia all-wheel-drive wagon (think Subaru Outback). Skoda is effectively the budget brand of Volkswagen and the Scout (like the Octavia) uses its German parent company's well-regarded 2.0-litre engines in both petrol and diesel form. They're mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. A regular Octavia all-wheel-drive wagon costs $35,490 in 1.9-litre TDI guise, so expect the Scout to be priced from a similar starting point to the Subaru Outback - $39,990. Skoda Australia is also considering the Fabia light car. The latest-generation Fabia launched in Europe in the middle of last year, powered by petrol and diesel engines ranging from 1.2 litres to 1.9 litres. But this model is yet to be confirmed. SMARTMercedes-Benz's diminutive, park-anywhere Smart ForTwo city car has grown in both body and engine size for generation two.

Learn About The History Of Belly Dancing In Japan

To talk about belly dancing in Japan, we have to first meet the history of belly dancing.Japan is not the first country in the word to have belly dancers in. In fact, when you combine the words 'belly dancing Japan' people look at you as if you were totally mad. In fact the phrase 'belly dancing Japan' has a lot of sense because there are really good belly dancers in Japan, so to speak. But let's see where and when belly dancing originally comes from. The historyBelly dance comes from Arabia in Asia. In Arabic (raks al-baladi) it means dance of the people. It is an art form with a long history. The origins of Bellydancing can be traced back some 5,000 years. Belly dancing was originally for women only. No men were allowed to participate or to watch the dance. It was for women and only for women. It helped women in childbirth, as the intense undulations helped to more or less remove birth pains. Later still, belly dance moved to the harem of sultans. There, beautiful ladies danced for the pleasure of the sultan (Arabic king) and his bezyrs( Arabic ministers). When there were diplomatic guests from China and Later (During Osman's empire) from Japan, coming to Rosetta Stone Chinese (Mandarin) sultan's palace, they had to watch and finally they started to love the dance. That's how, firstly by vague, unsure descriptions, 'belly dancing Japan' started to make a little more sense. But it was really hard to make it just from being a spectator. The girls, even, in Japan were considered as 'exotic dancers' which is not true nowadays anymore. Why were they considered 'exotic dancers'? Because opium in Japan was very very popular. It was very probable, when in Japan, when a visitor wanted to try their opium, it was served by a beautiful Japanese woman, who, as a bonus, as a belly dancing Japan girl, offered the stranger a belly dance. As belly dancing propagated in Europe too, European prostitutes often offered them a belly dance as a bonus, as something "exotical", as something "Japanese". So western people started to call belly dancing "Japan" girls exotic dancers and more offensive things, while it was exotically only for them NowadaysNowadays, belly dancing 'Japan' girls and boys are common but they are not very famous.

With the overall global online user population, about 500 million people in the internet world are from the continent of Asia which is more than in number against any other place on Earth. In the China countryside alone, the online or internet community has rocketed in the rate of 755 percent ever since or just in the year 2000 that joined the international SEO.It actually established a new level for a field of international SEO on the economic marketplaces and the open web is about to join the said venture. Rosetta Stone software An individual has to think about and consider the internet or the open web on its totality an enormous, about unending, network of PCs, of individuals and of facts and information of the international SEO. It affected the globalization of the actual world with its borders being come to an end to just have the international SEO not just survive but live as well though language makes it difficult to dominate the events in the open web. International SEO would be practical enough to be considered with the state of the internet market where the English language developing around the open web have turn out to be more liberally accessible and open to anyone. International SEO by itself has elevated on the online playing ground by providing and/or giving smaller businesses a chance but limited publicity budgets for their products and/or services with the equal marketing opportunity like of that with the well funded companies with their huge online marketing budgets. To add up, the international SEO would not be mistaken to imagine that the internet English virtual field has made infused with a number of online marketing tricks and approaches. Get A Headstart As A Nursing Assistant With Online Cna Classes

Online schooling is becoming increasingly popular. The benefits of studying at your own pace, in a scenario of your own choosing, are becoming known to more people who wish to attain higher levels of education, like trade certification and even college degrees. However, there are some jobs that one can't train for simply by sitting in front of a computer and going online - and nursing is one of them. There is some concern that since more and more people are taking online CNA classes instead of actually physically going to school for them, more and more nursing assistants are missing out on adequate training.Misconceptions such as these only lead us to believe people don't actually know what online CNA classes are all about. Certainly some jobs can't be learned in the armchair - or the computer chair, as is often the case in this modern age. But sitting around is the last thing that online courses are encouraging aspiring nursing assistants to do.Online courses are not done to take the place of practical training - they are only there to supplement it, by providing the necessary research materials, and assigning the proper study aids for trainees who are preparing Rosetta Stone Korean to take the certification exam. Most online nursing schools, for example, approximate the demands of real schools, requiring the students to turn in their exams and homework at specific times. Some online schools, however, are more lax with deadlines; students can still pass no matter when they decide to finish the course requirements, just as long as they are able to finish before the end of the course period. And just like in a regular nursing school, different certification exams would require different kinds of training. Certification to become a nursing assistant would require research and practical training that is at least similar to what one would get at a good community college. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), people who wish to be trained as certified nursing assistants would need to complete at least 75 hours of training by a registered nurse. This training should be geared toward helping the CNA aspirant gain certification. One thing must be remembered: online CNA classes are not meant to take the place of hands-on training! You shouldn't trust anyone who says you can be a certified nursing assistant even without completing the necessary hours of practical application. Good CNA classes should only help you become more aware of the skills you need to get in order to become a good healthcare worker - they should not even try to take the place of practical training.

Bed And Breakfast, California Style

There are, of course, various superb things concerning a good California bed breakfast. But what I find extreemly impressive in not only the California bed breakfast experience but the bed and breakfast experience in general is the theme room/hotel. Maybe you have a penchant for nature. Maybe you are a history buff. Or maybe you have a fetish for a particular travel destination or have a thing for art. Whatever the desire or require, you can indulge in a weekend fantasy at a themed California bed breakfast.CALIFORNIA BED BREAKFAST THEME HOTELS/INNSFor example, the following are just some of the possible fantasy weekend packages offered:At the Churchill Manor Bed and Breakfast in Napa Valley, you can experience the plantation in the Gone with the Wind rooms in the old southern Colonial home. The Gone with the Wind theme is also delightful at Plantation Bed and Breakfast in Lemon Grove, and at The Union Hotel and Victorian Mansion, in Los Almos, you might enjoy the Victorian age in the manse or indulge in the fantasy of the 1950s, the gypsy life, Roman antiquity, Egyptian royalty, French history, or Pirate swashbuckling. At Leucadia Inn in Encinitas, besides having subtly placed microwave and other contemporary amenities, you can have the dream of your choice come true in a Tropical setting, in the Hollywood Nostalgia room, on an African Safari, or by way of the decor that takes you to Rosetta Stone Language Nantucket, Calypso (style), or New Orleans. The Splash Spa in Los Angeles has the infamous cave, the Monte Carlo, and the Jungle Room, as well as rooms ala the Mediterranean, Barcelona, and Japan. But note that this California bed breakfast is not really a b&b but an "hourly" place to stay for a quickie or short rest (and, of course, spa treatment). And the wilder, more natural, and appropriately, more "western" urges can be satisfied at such places as The Featherbed Railroad Company, where you and yours can get loose with Mint Julep (rooms), engage in the romance of Casablanca, go alternative in the Easy Rider or La Loose, relive (so to speak) the mystery of The Orient Express, or go right back to the heart of The Wild, Wild West.California bed breakfast experiences, then, take you where you want to go or need to be, whether it is to re-experience your teen years in a Rockin' 50's Suite, with the bed that is fashioned out of a 1959 Cadillac; to play nouveau riche in a five-star Garden Theme room, in The English Rose, the Apricot Blossom Suite, or the Forget Me Not room; or exact the life of a writer in a cottage or a tortured one with James Dean angst in the Rebel Room. With the California bed breakfast, you can appreciate the amenities, can be coddled by old world cuisine and courtesy and charm of the caretakers, and can find appeal in anything from the pleasing views, the ambience, or the general atmosphere. But further, with the themed California bed breakfast, you come away with a memory of having gone back in time, gone forward in time, and having gone into the lives and spirit of another..be it Elvis or Scarlet O'Hara, an astronaut or a Neanderthal or a thug.

Surprise Boost For Med Island Holidays Industry

News from a major UK tour operator that it is to expand its operations in Malta as a response to increased demand has caught some in the island's holiday and hotel industry by surprise. The news from MyTravel comes after an agreement with Air Malta to increase flight capacity to the island for its customers. The Malta Tourist Authority have greeted the news by saying that the holiday company are increasingly aware of Malta as a holiday destination and that visitor numbers would be increasing in 2007.A Malta travel guide were as surprised as anyone that MyTravel were increasing capacity for Malta.'2006 has not been a good year for the Malta tourist industry', they say. 'Overall figures could show a drop of around 100,000 visitors in 2006 compared to 2005. There hasn't been much optimism lately that 2007 will be a lot better for the island, but there are new low cost flights which could help stabilise the number of holidaymakers next year, and with Air Malta doing good promotions and starting a new route from Liverpool perhaps next year will see a long awaited turnaround in the island's fortunes. If a leading holiday company thinks Malta is going to be in demand perhaps there is real hope'.Good news for Malta also came from a report by US travel writer Laura McKenzie, who ranked Malta as one of the top five destinations in the world for tourists in the world.Hotel and resort owners had watched the Maltese government earlier this year drag the negotiations out with the low cost airlines for some time, with delays in agreements losing Malta the potential of having extra tourists for this past summer season. And with a report showing that Malta could be an expensive location for 2007 holidays compared to the Spanish islands, the news from MyTravel is helping to instil a sense of optimism for the 2007 season. Malta Holidays'There is a possibility', comment the travel guide, 'That the introduction of the low cost airlines flying to Malta will merely delay the long term decline of the island's tourist industry. Unless money is spent on the infrastructure Rosetta Stone Chinese and improving the environment for the tourists generally there is a danger that a lot of visitors will be one-off. If there's a lesson to be learned in Malta that the government and her agencies have failed to grasp it is that sustainable tourism is built on repeat visitors. At the moment a lot of visitors from the UK see Malta as a one-off trip'.As well as Ryanair, it was hoped that easyJet would also start services to Malta, but the latest reports are that talks have failed to produce an agreement. Brighter news has come from the island's flag carrier, Air Malta though. As well as at one stage selling two tickets a minute in a recent promotion the airline is starting a new service from Liverpool next year. The property market will also be keeping a close eye on tourist numbers now that the new flights have been given the green light. If visitor numbers do drop in the medium term it could be good news for locals looking to buy their first property. There has been some discontent on the island about the rising prices of property in Malta, and with less overseas buyers the possibility of prices falling and more islanders being able to get on the property ladder could be welcome news, as today's tourist is often tomorrow's property buyer. But now that low cost airlines are going to start offering flights to Malta, this could help the Malta hotels and holiday market as more people consider three and four day breaks instead of the traditional week or fortnight, boosting the overall number of visitors, especially if Air Malta and the low cost airlines bring the cost of Malta flights to levels seen for the Spanish islands.Malta has traditionally seen the majority of her visitors from the UK, but this could be changing to a more diverse mix in future years.Last year saw a record number of visitors from Italy, and increased enquiries have been received at estate agents across the island from Scandanvia, Holland, France and Belgium, helping to increase the demand for Malta properties.

While some customisation of software may be necessary

Whether your organisation complies with these suggestions - and it should be added Rosetta Stone that sometimes these factors can be seen as reflections of alignment maturity as opposed to stepping-stones for achieving that heightened state - any IT implementation, especially one as significant as ERP, should keep all of these factors top of mind.Supply chain criteriaMany ERP systems are implemented as part of the supply chain process of an organisation. Here, again, the above success markers are relevant, but Tim Payne of Gartner ("Supply chain and IT strategies must align around five key themes", August 2007) suggests that "enterprises should focus on five technology areas - business process agility, data management, analytics and performance management, collaboration, and sensory networks - as the sources of technology-enabled supply chain innovation".Payne says "focusing on these technology areas will give the IT organisation more credibility as an ongoing participant in the dialogue [with the supply chain organisation]". He goes on to recommend:Periodic demonstrations of new technology capabilities, coupled with the co-development of supply chain initiatives, as new capabilities arise in these areas;Developing a plan for incorporating new infrastructure components that are needed to support innovation areas; andEvaluating the supply chain IT strategies and SCM vendor-sourcing criteria with the supply chain organisation for conformance and alignment based on the five key themes and related discussions, adjusting IT and sourcing strategies to address perceived gaps. All well and good. But, despite the best planning and Rosetta Stone Software setting of firm criteria, there is always the issue of compromise - that such an important and far-reaching a system as an ERP will not perfectly match your organisational set-up. The Aberdeen report suggests that "if your business processes were developed over time - in an unstructured way - the possibility exists that no ERP system will match exactly. Search out ERP solution providers with customers in your industry, evaluate the fit, and balance the need to adapt your business processes to conform with the software against aligning the software to your processes. While some customisation of software may be necessary, (only 11 per cent of respondents have zero customisation) it adds expense and effort to the initial implementation, and the complexity of future upgrades."In other words, if you bend a little to accommodate the ERP, while still maintaining your markers of success, you will find that the ultimate payback is a system that works well with an organisation in sync with itself. It is important overall, therefore, to look at all options, and that includes a range of suppliers, to assess the issues, drivers and pain points that you may have been facing in the past, and that you might be looking to deal with or, hopefully, avoid in the future to ensure the best fit for your organisation. The next article in this series will look at "Managing the total cost of ownership - What you need to know".IBS Australia develops ERP solutions, ERP Systems and business management supply chain software for inventory management systems Rosetta Stone Japanese, manufacturing ERP software, business intelligence systems and integration ERP software.
